Strange Black Metallic Material in Preview

Hi, it’s been two months since I’m learning blueprints. My game is finally taking shape but I’m confronted to a strange problem. I’m trying to replicate the Fog of War from the youtube video “Unreal Engine 4 Tutorial - RTS Part 23: Fog of War”. It worked so far except some points so I’ve decided to delete all the materials to begin again from scratch and I might have force deleted them, perhaps the problem comes from there. And so, when I had to recreate the Fog of War material, instead of showing me a black opaque sphere, it shows me a black metallic one.

I can’t disable Depth Test anymore and when I apply the texture on a ground in the game, it reflects the light.

Since then, all new materials I create shows this black metallic sphere. I even tried to create a new project and the same problem occurs. Can you help me please? Also, if you know of a way to make the borders of the Reveal SphereMask display with a progressive blur into the obscurity?

Thank you very much in advance for your attention.

I was able to ask my girlfriend to create a new material on her computer, with her own UE5 and it’s the same, with the Disable Depth greyed out so… I think there was indeed a bug but not the one I was thinking. Perhaps I shouldn’t have been able to check this option on my first try but I was mysteriously able to do so

I figured it out. It’s because I didn’t put the material as Translucent in the Blend Mode

Mystery solved, I’ll pay more attention of the Blend mode from now on… But I’ll still have to find a way to make the reveal area gradual into the obscurity
