A real-time 3D environment created in Unreal Engine 5. This mediterranic scene depicts a set of houses situated near a lake, alongside a temple. These houses symbolize the poverty prevalent at that time, as their architectural features prioritize simplicity and utilitarian function rather than capitalizing on the surrounding view and scenery. They also serve as dwellings for the agricultural laborers and their families, emphasizing practicality in their design. The variation in foliage on both sides is attributed to the presence of a water bed near the fountain.
The meshes created for this scene have uniform topology and are ‘water-tight’ to function with Nanite. The majority of accent details use layered materials, along with their corresponding RGB masks and tileable textures reused throughout the scene. A few fog mesh cards were added to make the scene more cinematic, and the foliage present in the landscape are low-res billboards. Foliage utilized is from Megascans, except for the palm trees which were made in TreeIt, a free software.
