Hello everyone! I’m really hoping this FAB thing works out. I’ve been happily creating content and cultivating a store on Sketchfab since 2016. I don’t know the average or norm, it doesn’t matter, but I have over 100 models I’m migrating over to FAB…
…the migration seems to have worked. All the assets are there, and the listings look good. I still have to check pricing and stuff apparently before I submit for review…
I was wondering a few things–over the years, I’ve accumulated a lot of likes, downloads, and statistics. These stats are badges I’ve earned over the years of work and store curation. Will I be losing all these numbers? Maybe I’m missing something, but this is important.
Will FAB not have a 3d model viewer embedded in the website? I certainly hope it does, because that’s huge. That’s what makes Sketchfab, Sketchfab.
Again, maybe I’m misunderstanding, but will I be keeping my Sketchfab store also? Or is it completely closing? Because if you close it, and people lose the 3d model view aspect of their 3d content creation, that is a massive loss.
Next, do I have to go through every single product one by one and submit it for review? Since I migrated over 100 models, is there a way to batch submit these for review? I’ve gone through a few here, and this will take up my entire morning doing this task–it should just copy the data from Sketchfab.
Adding EIGHT CLICKS and loading times for over 100 products for something that should be automatic is annoying.
I’m all about supporting Epic, I always have, but if I lose all my stats and 3d viewer from Sketchfab in this ‘takeover’, that would be very sad and annoying.
Thanks in advance.
