Still stuck at please wait

here are my dxdiag and loglink text

Hi zmoke,

Thank you for the report. We are currently investigating a string of ‘Please Wait’ issues.

Make sure to try the suggestions in this section of the troubleshooting guide first and let us know how that goes.

my video card drivers are update to lastes version… i also try the -opengl and when i open the launcher just crash i cant even put my email and pass to log in… whit the -wininet the launcher stay stuck at please wait

Some users have reported that running as Admin works for them, if you want to give that a try in the mean time?

Andrew

i run the launcher as admin and it still not working… :c it still the same whit -opengl launcher crash… whit -wininet launcher stay at please wait… and if i remove then the launcher says:ERROR unable to reach the epic servers at this time

thanks for helping me whit this. i hope we can fix my problem

Please can you add the following as an exception to your firewall and see if that fixes the issue, thanks

xmpp-service-prod.ol.epicgames.com port 5222

Andrew

Can u please explain me this step by step. Sorry im bad in english… I need to go to control panel and firerwall?

i’m not an expert, but… yes

1- open control panel->system and security->firewall

2- (on my win10) there is an option saying ‘allow an app through windows firewall’ press that button

3- look in the list for “EpicGamesLauncher” if it is there check that box

4- if it is not there press “change settings” on top, and “allow another app” on the bottom

5- this will open a window, click the ‘browse’ and browse to your launcher exe… mine is “C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Launcher\Engine\Binaries\Win64\UnrealEngineLauncher.exe” and click “add”

6- back in your ‘allow apps through firewall’ you should now see ‘EpicGamesLauncher’… check the box and close

I also turn off “real time protection” in windows defender

i add an exception to epic games launcher to my firewall but its still the same… do i have to put this xmpp-service-prod.ol.epicgames.com port 5222 somewhere???

I searched my computer and services and couldn’t find it on mine, so I don’t know how to add that… sorry :frowning:

there is a new launcher coming out at the end of the week, and there seems to be a lot of people having the same problem… so maybe it will be fixed by then…

If you’re using windows firewall: Windows help & learning

Hi abrown

Do I have to add this somewhere?? xmpp-service-prod.ol.epicgames.com port 5222

i allow the epicgames launcher comunicate through Windows Firewall but its stiil the same i cant log in :frowning:

did you try the bottom example,

If you’re having trouble allowing other computers to communicate with your computer through Windows Firewall, you can try using the Incoming Connections troubleshooter to automatically find and fix some common problems.

“Open the Incoming Connections troubleshooter by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box (on the right), type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting. Click View all, and then click Incoming Connections.”

I don’t have any problems, so I didn’t want to try it (if it ain’t broke…), I would assume that you add it where you click “incoming connections”… I would also assume that you need to be connected and be running the launcher at the time…

have you tried it with the firewall turned off?

yeah i tried whit the firewall off

and when i use the troubleshooter, in Incoming Connections it take for ever to find and fix

you would think with the firewall off, all firewall problems would be gone… guess you just have to wait, might be something with your computer, internet connection, who knows… perhaps the whole launcher thing needs to be re-thought or made in java…

only your launcher logs will help them for now… you could just download the GitHub version while you wait I guess…

luck and best wishes… northstar
