Stereoscopic Red/Cyan Glasses

Hi guys! I decide to post also in this section of the forum, because probably here there’s people that can improve this method if needed

I know that today we have much better technologies in UE4 (such Oculus), but the company that I work was making a little advergame to use with the old R/C 3D glasses.
After two trials, I manage to make with a Postprocessing Material that I can separate the channels of the front and also the back of the scene by different amount and blend those values with a parametric SceneDepth.
So I can manage to “choose” what object will become in front and back of the “center plane” of the scene.

I uploaded a little project (with Ue4 Blueprint Rolling template) with my “system” to create a decent stereoscopic effects in UE4 with little performance issues and some customizations and possible even more in future.

If anyone needs, feel free to use.

The link for download the project is in the video description.

Thanks

Hi Maico,
could this be adapted to created sequential stereo for shutter glasses?

Hi mcgi5sr2. Well… I’m not sure if this can be work with sequential glasses… Maybe if you use two whole render of the scene offset by a little amount and alternate every frame you maybe… just maybe achieve the effect eheheh But worth a try… Unfortunately I’m don’t have that kind of glass
