Steam VR Template

Cool beans @Proteus, will test out your new stuff, thanks a million times. Been learning from your setups for the past months, so just to let you know. Apart from using the template it’s a great learning resource !

Hi, I’m trying to set up this template to accommodate 2 different hand gestures (grab or point) using an Oculus Touch controller but I can only ever get one of the gestures to animate when using grip to grip and trigger to point.

As a test I set it up so that either the grip axis or trigger axis will cast to the same animation BP but still only one will function the other will produce nothing.

With the above only the R Grip axis will animate the hand, pressing the R trigger axis will not animate the hand but the axis values are registering via the print string and the casting doesn’t fail. If I swap the motion controller events over then the R trigger axis will animate the hand but the grip axis will not.

Why aren’t both inputs making the animations function?

Nevermind, I’ve got this working now. I wasn’t using a different Anim_class per gesture.

Finally been able to make multiplayer VR works. Will update template soon!

Hi Folks, thank you for the template. Before 4.13 THIS was the starting point for me. I switched to 4.13 meanwhile, but took over some of your code, to “improve” the 4.13 functionality.

In my project, I would like to use the “Sequencer” Switch-Mesh with the red button. Also for publishing. Is this ok for you?

Hello, thank you for developing it. Please update first page, I have not seen this page about your plugin, I really wish to use it, I just hope you’ll be developing it otherwise it can go outdated pretty fast. Good luck with development, especially Multiplayer!!!

For some reason, VRPawn_Teleport_P don’t have any parent, given that you said this statement
VRPawn_Teleport_P, VRPawn_Platform_P and VRPawn_Vehicle_P are children of VRPawn_P

Is there a problem to this or am I doing something wrong?

So which version of Unreal are you using? I must really update this one now to 4.17… I think last time I checked this template I was using 4.12 or 4.13… I think I should at least do an hybrid of Proteus Template and SteamVR template, but while using @ excellent plugin.
The reason why is that current SteamVR template does not currently work with Oculus Touch. So I’ve 2 advices:

  1. If you want to use @ plugin, give me 1 or 2 week to update this template to current Unreal version / with Touch
  2. If you don’t use @ plugin, I encourage you to migrate to the Proteus template, which is current with 4.17 version: Single/Multiplayer, Touch & Vive Proteus blueprint only Template - XR Development - Epic Developer Community Forums

I was using 4.16 (4.17 came out week after after i start 4.16 0.o)
(I am using Vive)
I am sorry, I didn’t realized there is Proteus template for latest version of Unreal, I didn’t really need plugin atm, I was hoping to learn and using those. I will be using second option,
You do not need to update for me unless you are doing it for other.
