Steam Subsystem UE 5.7.1

Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone has had issues with connecting to a listen server via steam with 5.7.1? In previous projects I’ve set up Steam Subsystem quite easily in both c++ and blueprints. I’ve also implemented it with Advanced Sessions in blueprints and the change was very simple to implement.

However, for some reason 5.7.1 simply will not allow a user to connect to a listen server. The level simply reloads and sessions are no longer found. It works fine on lan, and when I load the game I’m loading “Spacewars” (as expected), but the second I use a second steam account on another computer, it either doesn’t find a server… or when it does, the previously mentioned behavior happens.

I’ve been working on this now for a week, when previously it took 15-20 minutes to get working. I’m at a complete loss. I’ve even set up new blank projects, with simple UI which loads a blank map and the same behavior happens.

Any information would be helpful.

Thank you

Edit: I was able to get it working. Here’s my post in another thread. Hope it helps

I don’t have any fix, but I’m also having this issue. I’ve just started using Unreal and was really excited to get steam up and running. I wanted to test with friends but cannot get anything to connect.

For me, the session gets created just fine, my host loads into the game level but it’s in Standalone mode, not listen. My client can see the session and gets all the way through to the join but doesn’t move to the game map, probably due to the lack of the host listening.

Same problem in 5.7.2
