Steam : Networking problem

Hi,
We are doing a Multiplayer VR game, we are having some problem with Steam multiplayer during our testing phase, this problem never behave when the game is uploaded directly in steam server :

  • Here is the workflow : We made a widget to detect our Steam ID, on the screen when we connect.
  • Right click on the game .exe : Launch Game → The game opens, and randomly we are connected as “Desktop”(LAN) & sometime we are with our “Steam ID”.
  • If we quit Steam+Steam VR, Restart Steam, and steam VR, we usually get our Steam ID. But sometime we are going on LAN.

Problem is that this is too much random, and we are wasting so much time doing this process of restarting steam after each test… Is there something we are missing?
