hello,

I’m using 4.13 of unreal , but i’m getting a bit of a problem,

I use steam integration for joining / hosting games , but for some reason the steam integration e.g the overlay / joining game / hosting games will not work for me, iv sent my game to friends and it works great , but for me i cant even test my game due to this, so i was hoping someone could help me ,

iv tried googling it , iv tried redoing it / iv pretty much tried everything i can think of,

and before people ask ,yes i have steam open , yes i have the overlay on , and yes the overlay does work with other games on my pc ,

so i’m kinda stuck

hi thanks for the replay,
but iv tried all this and still not working for me,
idk why but the overlay / steam integration on my game works fine for everyone but me , so its not so much as the sdk inst working but for some reason i cant get it to work on my pc

Steam setup changed in 4.13. Below is what you need to do.

Can you open Steam and choose from the top left of the window:

Steam → Settings → In-Game

Then, make sure that “Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game” is checked.

ye i checked that,
its enabled
and its not working still

My assumption is that when you say PC, you mean running Windows. Is that true? Or, are you running OSX or Linux?

I cannot find anything internal related to Windows 10 not being able to see the Steam Overlay and I have created a project on my end to verify it is working, which it is.

The last thing I could offer is that if you want to send me a download to your project, I can verify everything is working for me or update you if I find anything wrong.

but ye idk iv looked everywhere for a fix, but i cant find anything …

I packaged your project up and rand it on my computer as well as a co-workers computer. Both of us were able to see the Steam overlay as well as use the Steam chat and web browser.

I am not sure why you are having an issue.

Do you by chance have Windows 10 Anniversary edition?
