Static Mesh Question

Hi everybody!

This is my very first post on these forums! I’m brand new to Unreal, and any kind of game dev stuff in general, but I’m having a blast learning.

I recently downloaded a free assault riffle FBX from www.free3d.com. When I import the FBX it brings a TON of stuff, most of them being pieces and parts of the riffle. One thing I don’t see is a static mesh for the gun, and its also not available in the static mesh drop down list.

So my question is, am I downloading the wrong thing or how do I make the riffle a static mesh?

I’m sure this is something simple, but I haven’t been able to find an answer yet.

You’d need to first bring it into a 3D software like Blender/3ds Max/Maya and then check to make sure it’s set up properly and then export it to UE4.
