Hi.
I made some trees with wind which are pretty cool and all but they steal like 5-10 fps from my project due to dynamic shadows. I can get those fps back by turning on rigid/static shadows on those trees in foliage tab but these settings look bad/weird/just not right. Static/Rigid shadows are acting weird, kinda hard to explain, some popup/change while walking, looks like there is some circular occlusion, just weird stuff.
Any ideas how to make my dynamic trees cast static shadows?
I thought about shadowcasters. In unity i can turn off casting shadows on my trees, make simplified mesh and make that simplified mesh only cast shadows. I couldnt make them static tho, but i think simplified mesh casting shadows would still give a better performance than current setting.
How do i do this in unreal?
I saw some solutions to do that but for that i’d need to make a blueprint but i can’t put blueprint inside foliage painter. Kindly asking for help in any or all my inquiries. Thanks in advance.
