Startup movies on android

So, I added movies to the startup movies, checked wait for movie to start and disabled movies skippable.

The startup movie does show up perfectly on pc, but it doesn’t show up when launching on android. I suppose it’s a bug.

Hi Cube2222,

Does this occur on a clean project with no additional content? Additionally what type of android device are you attempting to get the video to play on?

Howdy Cube2222,

What is the resolution of your video? Also, is you video a h264 file or another codec type? Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and have a great day!

So the video is mp4, 1920x1080, 1932 kb/s , 30 fps, There is additional content but it shouldn’t stop the video, those are jsut meshes and materials, some blueprints, and c++ code regarding the main character. I can check with a clean project soon. The android device is Sony Xperia Z2. Packaged for android(all) platform.

Currently at this time, UE4 does not recognize 1080p video. Also, h264 would be the best bet to use when placing a video into a project.

Ok, Thank you  see if it works.

Well, sadly it still doesn’t work. Here are my tested video files (already h264):

Which android device are you currently using to deploy your project to? Also, what version is that OS is that Android device currently on?

Device sony xperia z 2, android(all), 4.4.2, 17.1.2.A.0.314

Howdy Cube2222,

Thank you for reporting your issue, It seems that Video for android has yet to be implemented into a build of UE4. Here is a post stating that: Startup movies on Android - Mobile - Unreal Engine Forums.

I am unsure as to when the video feature will be implemented, but i will be sure to keep you posted.

If any other information is needed, please feel free to open this thread.

Thanks and have a great day!
