Startup movie on linux

Hello, devs!))
When startup movie will come to linux users?

There’s work on supporting webm movies for 4.21 - that plugin will be usable for shipping.

Video playback is handled via plug-ins and UE4s installation comes without one working on Linux. Sou you’ll have to add one like VlcMedia yourself. But be aware that the handling of its binary dependencies when it comes to shipping is not a trivial task.

wow!
i will try it!
Thank you!

Hello

I susses compiled VlcMedia without any errors via this tutorial - YouTube

This is binary https://drive.google.com/open?id=1B1RPpJakGn3Z9INy7TWA5c0RPTn7bLls

Turn on VLC in plugins settings, looks like it works

How to use it? Can someone take short tuto?

I’m still can’t play media (see screenshot) (this is mpeg4 play fine in win64 ue build)

Please help me to start use vlsc in unreal.

4.21 will have the support for webm, I recommend upgrading to it once it’s released. Unlike VLC, you can actually ship with that.

on 4.21 on linux i get webm works!
but without videosound,
i’m glad anyway
thank you devs!

yes!

it works! i just test it!

and i think vpx is better than mpeg4

Hey
This is work only for mediatextures!
This is dont work for startup movies!
Can you fix it?

If you sync to the latest in the branch it should work for startup movies, too.

i use tooday build from 4.21 branch

this is only for mp4 files, why?

i try to add mp4 suffix

but dont work

i test on windows 4.21-rc3

-webm impot with no audio, like on linux

-no playback - return error

Thanks for bringing this up, will be fixed soon.

Hell, now in recent build is possible to select webm in filedialog. Thank you!

But… startup movie does not plays!)))

Please fix it.

is this still an issue? I’m not getting a startup movie on my linux build for steam deck
