Starting Play breaks debug prints in Editor (bug?)

This issue has been annoying me for awhile, confusing and making debugging much less straightforward, but I finally was able to pin it down.

Tested in Unreal Engine 5.7.2, 5.5.4.

Consider this very simple blueprint - all it does, it prints “hello” in Construction Script and has “Run Construction Script in Sequencer” in Class Settings.

Let’s do series of tests (all steps are visible in the demo below):

  1. Adding actor to Sequencer and moving Sequencer’s playhead, while we’re in Editor, - “hello” is printed, as expected.
  2. Starting Play mode and moving Sequencer’s playhead - “hello” is also printed, which is also expected.
  3. Stop Play mode, we’re back in Editor, try to move Sequencer’s playhead again - “hello” is not printed anymore. Which seems odd, since in theory we should have been return to the Editor state we left from.
  4. You can do Shift-L (note the popup on the right bottom) - it’s a hotkey to Toggle Stats and debug prints will reappear. This is a workaround I’ve found in Print strings not printing on screen - #9 by aapiedra

Is there any reason why debug prints are disabled when coming bug to Editor or it’s a bug?
