You don’t have to create a UE5.6 project and migrate - there’s a better way which adds the feature pack to 5.7
If you go to the engine install folder for 5.6, you see 2 folders of interest. The samples folder contains the starter content. Copy that to your 5.7 folder.
Once you’ve done that, go into FeaturePacks. This folder has a file called StarterContent.upack. Again, copy this one file into the 5.7 feature packs folder. Then, in Unreal you can now add the starter content. It’s not ideal but it definitely works.
The content works fine. Also, as for it being out of date - the textures and assets in the starter content are actually quite good and useful for those starting out. I think it is strange that it was removed. At least it is easy to add back in.
