Start up issue stopping me from trying out UE4 :(

I’m a new guy tempted away from other ‘engines’ by the wonderful freeness of the UE, but I have a problem.

Whenever I try to launch UE4.7 I get a popup saying…

K32GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in … KERNAL32.dll followed by another popup about occulus rift.

I have 8g 64bit windows vista. gtx550ti gpu. dx11. no occulus.

Can someone tell me what’s wrong.

Sorry if I posted in wrong place, but this seemed the most relevant place to post.

Please help. Thanks for reading.

Please read Frequently Asked Questions - Unreal Engine -> What are Unreal Engine 4’s system requirements?
For developing with UE4, we recommend a desktop PC with Windows 7 64-bit

Please. Ofc I read them.

What are Unreal Engine 4’s system requirements?

For developing with UE4, we recommend a desktop PC with Windows 7 64-bit or a Mac with Mac OS X 10.9.2 or later, 8 GB RAM and a quad-core Intel or AMD processor, and a DX11 compatible video card. UE4 will run on desktops and laptops below these recommendations, but performance may be limited.

The errors seem totally unrelated to OS.

Do you have Vista SP1 installed?

No, fully up to date sp2.

Hello BlackCrypt,

I am receiving this error on my home computer. The oldest version of Windows that is officially supported is Windows 7 Service pack 1. However, I have found that older versions of the engine will run on my computer at home. Such versions include 4.6.1 and back. You could try downloading one of these. I hope that this information helps.

Make it a great day
