Hello people, I’m making this work for class, I still have a lot of work to do, but God willing it will be coming nicely, I’ll keep posting so if you have any advice or suggestion please leave it here and I most likely will use it to improve the project!
I have yet to totally finish the modular system, that was the main goal of the week but I delayed it a bit, in sha Allah I’m gonna recover the work and also add more textures, the mosaics are a bit trick to find, a lot of the textures are not really tileable even if they appear so, and the software to make tileables textures really doesn’t work with exact textures like mosaics. But God willing and with effort I will find in the future good tile textures, in the worst case scenario I’ll have to make them (perhaps that would be the best option in this case, otherwise I might waste more time searching for textures)
In any case, let me know if you have any suggestion for the project! I want to add Quranic references to it (Like the knocker star (Al-tariq), or the Rosetta nebula reference some interpret), and I have some cool ideas but I have to firstly make the main scene so I have the base looking good and then put the individual assets.
That’s it for the week, God bless you all and guide all of us to make good content which is cool and also formative and with depth!
Well, I’ve had a lot of distractions going on, but it’s time to show how the project has been advancing.
I’ve been working a lot (not that much but at the end i didn’t get to use a downloaded texture in any instance) on textures and added some more modules.
I also touched illumination and started making some individual assets for the project.
I still would like to fix the doors, and also add more unique assets, and optimize the scene since now (especially the trees) it went from 60 to 30 fps aprox.
In case I made this changes I’ll update them here again in sha Allah.
It has been a long time, but It happened so quickly, there is always improvement to be made.
Your Arabic/Islamic-styled environment is absolutely stunning and impressive! Every detail in the scene is expertly and meticulously sculpted, showcasing your diligence effortlessly. Although I wasn’t here during your development process, I am grateful to have witnessed the outcome. Thank you for sharing your incredible work with us in the forums.
New stuff I worked on, I finished this project formally in the eyes of the school months ago, but recently I’m working on polishing it more, since I think I underestimated the work I did and with just a bit more work, optimization and whatnot I can make this shine and be cooler, here is a small video showcasing the project: https://youtu.be/4W1yzHIZNxQ
I’m thinking on adding more gamification, for now it’s more of a walking simulator? After all the project was for the Videogame Art master, but now I’m studying Game Design for the second year, so after the optimization I may revive this one and make it even better, in sha Allah.
Hope you are all doing well, and thanks to the few people who commented and supported, man with a little bit of work this can be cool.
Wow this is beautiful. From the lighting to the architecture - it’s simply breathtaking. So glad I found this thread as it got ready for demo release. I look forward to seeing what you create next!
Impressive work! Your project looks great, and the improvements are noticeable. Keep polishing it; it has the potential to shine even more. By the way, read Surah Al-Imran for inspiration.
Assalamu alaikum brother, personally i based it on some of the Quran but sadly it isn’t so much visible, i’m now working on another project and taking a lot of inspiration from the Furqan, jazakallah for the suggestion, btw i’m not an arab speaker just yet so i still struggle to read without translation haha. I usually use Quran.com which is quite handy since you can hear the beautiful recitation while reading the translation of the meaning. I may post when i got something together of the next project i’m talking about so you can help me with suggestions. I’m still deciding the name of the game but it may be something related to Harmony, which i believe would be an interesting way to translate Salam, but either way it’s a nice word i think.
