Spring Interpolate for Control Rig doesn't work when rendering via movie queue

I’ve been recently diving into Control rig (in 5.2 in my case) and added dynamics to various limbs via the spring interpolate (quaternion) node. It works great when animating the rig within Sequencer in the editor but once I render it out using Movie Render Queue, the movement caused by spring interp disappears.

Anyone know why this might be happening? Been trying all sorts of configurations but haven’t gotten it to work at all when rendering, it seems to completely ignore it.
