Spring Arm Rotation Bounce-backs

Hello,

When I attach a static mesh to an actor’s spring arm and then attempt to rotate the actor, the attached static mesh frequently bounces backward and begins rotating in the opposite direction. I’ve experienced this problem multiple times in different contexts. A low Camera Rotation Lag value allows for smoother rotation, but it also causes bounce-backs more frequently; a higher value makes movement less smooth, and bounce-backs less frequent.

For example, an object on a spring arm with a Camera Rotation Lag value of 1 is basically not rotatable. It almost immediately bounces back, over and over.

There should be a way to have a low Camera Rotation Lag value–and therefore smooth rotation movement–without getting the bounce-backs, and I’ve already messed with the available settings on the spring arm’s Details panel. Does anyone know how to fix this?

thanks
