SplineComponent made in Construction script is not editable

I made a post asking questions about this. [4.9pre4] SplineComponents built with construction script are not editable - C++ Gameplay Programming - Unreal Engine Forums

This new change has no real benefit from what I can see. However I have seen no reason given for why this is a required change. Could we get some feedback on how to enable editing the splines made in construction scripts please as this will potentially kill using the construction script entirely in some cases and affects previous systems on a terminal level.
