Hi I’m currently trying and failing to write a blueprint to place many pointlights along a spline to basically curve them. Does anyone know how I could do it? I’ve seen many use splines to arrange static meshes along curves, but cant find anything about lights.
You mean as if the lights are on a cable? Not that the lights have to distort with the spline?
Yeah basically like a chain of lights. Need it to replicate more realistic curved LED uplight. Emissive materials are sadly not quite enough for that. untill now i have manually placed them along the curve, but thats quite time consuming.
thanks a lot
What are the N nodes?
Seems to be a variable for holding the number of lights to create
It is working, thank you. I tried to change Rect Light component but I can’t rotate light source. Can you help me?

I can’t upload images so I’m adding a link
You have to apply the rotation on the actual spline points

I didn’t expect to get an answer so soon, and I really appreciate it.
I’ve been trying to create Linear Light using IES files and have been having a lot of trouble. I tried to use Emmisive material, but I got a lot of noise during rendering, so I gave up.
Then I found your post and I’ve been studying it every day and left a question just in case.
Since the IES file is 1 meter, I was looking for lights to be placed at regular intervals along the spline.
Your method is the most efficient, but the whole light is looking along the spline, so I was looking for a way around that.
Should the lights be looking at the floor or the sky?
Sorry for asking so many questions
I never imagined that someone in a community like this would give me an answer like this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m going to try it right now.
