SpeedTree won't animate inside the sequencer? (using 4.25.3)

I’m trying to render the trees from A Boy His Kite.
I can see the trees moving in the editor, but when I render my image sequence using the sequencer they all appear as static meshes.

Is there any way to render them as animated meshes?

Try with Simulate mode.

Isn’t that what the sequencer is doing anyway?
Where is the Simulate Mode button located in the interface?

the play button at the top? it’s essentially using this mode when you render from sequencer, maybe it’s just moving slowly

I think you’re right. Once I cranked up the wind speed and frequency I started seeing tree motion inside the sequencer render.
