Hi there,
I am facing an issue with SpeedTree material in Unreal Engine 5. After importing the st9 file to UE5, I am seeing black materials in the project. However, when I tested importing the same st9 file to ElectricDreams_Env, the materials were displaying correctly. I am wondering whether I missed any setup steps in new project before importing the SpeedTree files.
You can open up the materials and see if there’s any warnings or errors. I think it might be related to substrate being off/on which are two different material systems.
Thanks for your comment. I checked the master material graphic, there is no error or warning that I can see. Weird!
Alright, the problem is solved with mystery. I found some nodes broken in the SpeedTree master material graphic without an error warning. After I opened the same SpeedTree master material in ElectricDreams_Env and then reopened my project, the problem was gone!
