Spawning blood decal on character material


I have implemented simple shooting mechanics and now I would like to spawn blood decals on Character material in the impact point location (where “bullet” meets character body) to leave blood stains on its cloths. I have decal material but still no idea how to properly implement blood decals.

Any ideas so far? Do you have some working examples maybe?
