Spawn help from Pre-Game Lobby to Gameplay

I was having big problems trying to get FFA mode to award the winning player through eliminations the win, luckily that is sorted out now thanks to coolio

Next the headache was getting the timer to work in pre-game lobby instead we had to manually respawn to get from pre-game to gameplay - thanks to help from others I now have a timer working in pre game but on the timer ending the players respawn back in pre-game lobby instead of spawning in gameplay, unsure how to get around this, it is starting to get frustrating as others helping but nothing appears to work at the moment.

I have used this setting below for Pre-Game Lobby spawns of which I have 16

So with the above I spawn in pre-game lobby, timer ticks down & then I re-spawn back in pre-game lobby and that’s it - to get into game I have to manually respawn as stated above.

I noticed there were some other settings detailed below.


In red are what I had as the settings for these options, thought I would play around and see what the changes do.

So I opted for Player Class - changed from Any to No Class (there are no classes in this map so thinking this would make no difference)

Changed Player Team from Any to None - it is an FFA map 16 players 40 Eliminations to win - pre game lobby timer 1 minute and no in game timer.

With these changes the player spawns in pre-game lobby, timer ticks down then players spawn back in pre-game lobby so on manually respawning instead of going into gameplay I spawn in the air and not on any spawn pads - the whole map is an indoor map with no way of getting outside.

The above setting Enabled During Phase I left set at Dameplay Only

This map as far as I am concerned is finished except for issues with lighting where lights that worked now have red crosses over them but unsure how to fix this so will leave it and this big problem getting from Pre-game lobby into Gameplay when the timer runs out - really would love some information / help as to moving forward with this and getting it working correctly.

This is my first map and previously before UEFN I had not player Fortnite and had not used Creative 1.0

I have an idea that maybe I could make some kind of Elimination trap where all players are wiped out in pre-game lobby when the timer runs out, possibly an elimination zone spawning into the room but really would prefer to have a proper solution, the tools are there so there must be a combination to get this working.
Coolio offered to write some verse code to force spawns to go from pre-game to gameplay but again would prefer to know where I am going wrong so next time I can get this working on y own.

Current Private Version is 5311-5941-6041
The pre-game lobby spawns are stuck in this area, there is a mutator zone that triggers a UFO sequenced animation when they walk into it, this sequence lasts approx 22 seconds - the pre game lobby timer is set at 1 minute.

Hopefully this video shows the problem. (the first 7 seconds are odd with the player spawning it didn’t used to do that hopefully a one off glitch)

This has now been sorted out thanks to Coolio looking at the map he made that change to Always shown in the image and everything is working now so hopefully the map will get published today.

I would delete this but unsure how to so it can be marked no longer requiring a response.

And I have just learn’t an alternative method here to try out, thank you.
For future eyes I will rave on some…

Pregame lobby is always a headache when doing first project, especially when during a Launched Session it doesn’t follow the rules you’ve set for Pregame spawning. Only when you have Uploaded to Private Version can you test this.

For the pregame I set Use as Island Start to On, set the Priority Group to 2 and Enabled to Always.
For the game spawns I set Use as Island Start to Off, set the Priority Group to 1 and Enabled to Always.

This functions for me, but between rounds the player just flies in the air above game spawn for the few seconds until round start where the player then spawns as normal, Something I need to address, as soon as I find my round twoit.

Thanks for the reply, been honest I could never have published this map if it wasn’t for the help of people in the Discord Server and on here, the building side I really enjoy but using these devices and working out spawns and stuff like that has taken weeks.

Also lucky that Coolio helped me with FFA mode as it was ending in a draw every time so we tried out some changes and everything working now so hopefully will publish today.

Could you do a screen grab of the Lobby Spawn settings and then Gameplay Spawn settings side by side? I’m having trouble with these now and having a side by side comparison would help tremendously. Thanks!

See if these images work for you, one is of pre-game lobby, spawns in the FFA map and Island Settings.
It used to be 25 eliminations to win but the guy who did the spawns changed it to open and kept a record of peoples score using verse so these settings might be no good to you, let me know please as I will be making some more FFA maps soon

He had issues setting things up so in the end uses teleporters with each spawn I think.
Since the day UEFN launched the FFA last man standing (modes where 1 player can win) have had issues, it is possible to get it working but you have to mess around or get the info foom others, why has this not been fixed.



Unsure if this is any good I have not tried, it says it fixes match ending in a draw

Im having a smilar issue, my map is not published yet.

When I hit game start I am spawning into pregame lobby spawners. I have my pregame lobby spawners set to enable during phase - pre-game only… and the rest are set to enable during phase - always. When I set the pre game spawner to enable durning phase - none it works properly but will this effect the pregame lobby?

I tried changing the pre-game only spawners to enable during phase - always, like this post suggests since it worked for them. When I switch my pre-game only spawners to enable during phase - always, they become apart of the mix of game spawners and I will randomly spawn into the pre-game lobby during game mode after a few deaths. Is there something I am missing?

I was chatting with members in the uefn discord group and got the answer to my question, this is for anyone with this problem in the future.

You have to set

  1. all spawners to “enable during phase - always”
  2. all preingame only spawners to“use as island start”
  3. all -game only spawners to “priority group -off”
  4. all game spawners to “priority group - 1”
