I have a follow-up question related to Sparse Point Cloud export in RealityScan v2.1.
Problem description
- I export the Sparse Point Cloud from RealityScan (ALIGNMENT tab → Export → Sparse Point Cloud).
- The exported file format is PLY.
- When I open this PLY file in CloudCompare, I see many obvious “floating” or “airborne” noise points far away from the main structure.
- However, when I view the sparse point cloud directly inside RealityScan v2.1, these noise points do not appear to be visible (or are much less noticeable).
This leads to two questions:
- Why do these noise points appear in CloudCompare but not in RealityScan?
- What is the correct or recommended way to remove these noise points?
