Sounds only play in screen space

Hi everyone, I made this post to see if anyone knows how and maybe why this happens. It really bothers me. It’s quite strange that sounds are only heard if the player is looking at them.

Context:
My game is a shooter, with different game modes. But in general, one would expect the sound to always work properly, right?

I noticed that gunshots are only heard when the sound is within range of the screen. I tried fixing it with Binary Radius, but it doesn’t do anything, or I’m doing something wrong.

In the video, I have Steam Audio enabled to see if that would solve my audio problems. But it doesn’t seem to make a difference.
(It’s set to Windows > Spatialized Plugin)

In my sound, I tried setting the attenuation to Non-Spatialized Radius, but that only makes the sound mono. It wouldn’t be bad if it weren’t for the fact that it sounds quieter than the sound itself. And in my game, that’s very strange, because the player shoots and barely hears his shot, and when other players shoot, those sounds are louder than the player’s own. Which is quite inconsistent.

Edit: I Noticed that the audio does play in the recording. But it doesn’t play on my computer. What could it be?

When the sound is behind my camera, the sound doesn’t play. There’s literally no sound. But it does play in the recording. Could that audio be being sent somewhere else?

Another edit. I found the problem; it was my audio settings. I use Realtek, and for “TryHard” reasons on my part, I had the audio set to 7.1, so I changed it to Stereo. Now I hear what you guys are hearing in the video. It’s quite strange, but in that case, I don’t understand how I can hear sounds behind me in games like Call of Duty. Could it be that they override the audio settings?

I feel kind of silly about this, I’ve always had this problem, and it turns out that all this time I’ve always been using this sound setup, it makes me rethink how long I’ve been using this?
