Sound guys! What are your tools?

I know there’s quite a few of us here, so what sort of stuff does everyone work in?

I’m a music guy primarily so my list is going to be quite long.

DAW: FL Studio 12 64-bit
Main plugins: BS ENGINE 2, NI Kontakt 5.4, EZDrummer 2, EZKeys and lots of effects, mainly URS and Slate Digital
Libraries: Too many to list, but lots of cinesamples

All that made me broke, and since I don’t have my 2TB drive installed yet, it’s all over on my laptop. Usability is near nil because of how bad that machine’s hardware is. Ick.

Also more of a music guy when it comes to sound, but its more of a hobby. Maily a programer.

DAW: Reaper 4.77 64 bit
Interface: NI Komplete Audio 6
Plugins: Izotope Ozone, Everything by Variety of Sounds (free but great), TSE Audio x 50 and BOD, Poulin Amps, Ignite Amps Emissary, NI Kontakt, EZ-Drummer 2, NI supercharger. Reaper’s stock plugins are also very good.
Hardware: Ibanez RG 370DX with D-Sonic/DActivator PUs, Ibanez S7420 (7 String Guitar) with D-Activators, Ibanez BTB555 (5 String Bass) with EMG preamp and PUs, cheap Casio Stage Piano, self-made Tube Screamer copy, cheap acoustic guitar by Cort. SE electronics X1.
Libraries: Mostly Damage, AEON, Storm Choir, Cornucopia Strings, Kontakt stock Brass library, NI Giant, NI Definitive Piano colllection. Not really libraries but For guitar Cab Simulation I’m using S-Impulse Jimmy and Freddy IRs or Gods Cab.

I’ve gathered a lot of gear when I was playing guitar in a band and wanted to record ideas. Now I’ve transitioned into hobby music production somehow over the years.

  • Reaper, I use it daily, for everything  Otherwise I’m on Nuendo/Cubase, SoundForge, and too many VSTs to list, though I am a current big fan of all the u-He stuff.
    Best-
    Zak
