Sound Attenuation

I played around the the sound attenuation files used by various sound cues (such as t-rex footstep) but I cant seem to get the natural falloff that I’m looking for.

When the Trex is outside the max range I hear nothing. Then as he enters I hear his footsteps crashing down at about 80% volume even though he is still quite far away.

To go from silence to 80% volume in one step doesn’t seem realistic at all.

I’ve tried various algorithms (linear, natural, Logarithmic) and none seem to fade in the footstep like I’d expect.

Anyone understand how to get the footstep to slowly fade in naturally from say 40m away?

Anyone had experience with sound attenuation…?

I used a couple of the default ones for a couple items I made and it seems to work well for me. Lightsaber for example has a nice sound fade in and out as you get closer or further from it. Same with the spark sound I used for the drop pods, very easy to “follow the sound” to find them. Here is how I have the .wav and the cue setup for the drop crates
