Sound attenuation never playing

I set up a simple enemy that has audible footsteps. I created a sound attenuation asset, but when enable attenuation is checked, it never plays any sound. the spatialization works fine, so it isn’t in issue with the asset being used.

i have messed with the inner radius and falloff distance, and it doesn’t seem to have any impact. is there a setting i’m missing in order for this to work?

If the enemy starts some distance from you, them virtualization might be the problem. In the wave, try setting this to ‘play when silent’
