Somewhere along the Cerulean Coast..

Hello everyone,
I’m happy to share my first artwork I created in UE5, inspired by Elden Ring.
I modeled almost everything except the foliage and sculptures, which were free to use assets.
A short animation can be viewed here.
Cinematic :red_triangle_pointed_up:
It was a great learning experience and I can’t wait to learn more.
Cheers!

@VINTERBORN woooooooooow, I just saw your post. My mind is blown away by the amount of details you put in this project. Elden Ring is a great game no doubt about it but when you use the Telescope from the game to closely evaluate the assets or the environment then it is yuk yuk :joy: but not yours and I know this because anytime I play this game first 15 min I spent watching surrounding using Game Telescope and I play this game a lot cuz it has fun PvP.

I would love to see your detail process on how you were able to create this beautiful place from zero to finish. Again, amazing work and I am surprised your video doesn’t already have close to a million view cuz you should and don’t doubt your effort cuz it’s beautiful no matter the numbers of views you have in your video.

Hi there @VINTERBORN,

Welcome to the Unreal Engine forums. So nice to see a new face around here

This project is absolutely breathtaking. The water alone is stunning, but with the addition of the flowers and castle it’s just so darn gorgeous. As an MMORPG gamer, I immediately wanted to explore. So genuinely impressed. Do you plan on creating more Elden Ring-esque environments?

ohh I’m pleased to meet another Tarnished from the lands between! lol. Thank you so much.

About the process, I basically started by modeling the main elevator structure, the grand lift of dectus. I gathered a lot of screenshots from the game. I modeled everything in 3dsMax, and then exported using the datasmith plugin, and sometimes as just fbx.
Then I just kept adding more stuff, a lot from quixel library, and many free assets from sketchfab, specially the sculptures. I remeshed them in UE and applied UVs in UE as well.
I was amazed UE5 could handle a huge amount of objects without slowing down. So anyway, it was a fun learning experience. Cheers!

Thank you so much. I’m glad you liked it. It was a UE5 learning attempt. I’d love to create more Elden Ring stuff related stuff as a big fan of the game, or at least more souls-like environments, but at the moment I’m focusing on learning other areas of the engine. Cheers!

Yes, nice to meet you too Tarnished :joy: Well, when you deicide to make a new one next time. I want you to teach me in the video how you did it. Yes, Unreal is very powerful and I am amazed how this resource is pretty much free to use unless you make mil. Thanks to Epic Games for keeping this way.
