Here are some improvements that I think we could see in CommonUI. And I’m not the most knowledgeable of all the features, so maybe some of these exist but I haven’t been able to find it yet. If so please say something.
Allow Common Action Widget to show icon for unloaded Input Mapping Context
- Currently if you give the widget an action that is not loaded in the IMC. It will not show any icon.
- Being able to use it for unloaded actions could allow you to use it to show key mappings in a menu where you can display the correct gamepad icon for the gamepad being used.
Add the ability to specify controller type for the Common Action Widget
- This would allow you to force the widget to show only keyboard or only gamepad icons which could then be used in the case of using this widget to display icons for a key mapping editor
Add the ability to specify keymap slot for the Common Action Widget
- This would allow you to display secondary key icons as well. But currently it only displays primary key mappings.
