Some search bars are not working in Unreal Engine

When i’m blueprint after clicling right mouse button to open an menu i cannot type anything in the search bar. Other search bars are working (e.g. one in settings).

I’m using currently UE 5.4.4 for linux, but older build of UE 5 on linux share the same issue

You are not alone, its present in 5.4, 5.5, 5.5.1, 5.5.2, 5.5.3

its a nightmare epic are really failing failing in the linux department. and its getting out of hand. its really growing thin for a lot of people i speak with. they dont even acknowledge it either.

Only way i could get this to work with wayland was to reduce the security level for the ability to read keystrokes.
You can do this by going to
->System Settings → applications → Legacy X11 App Support → Set to always

This solution is working for me in 5.5.4, on Fedora 42/KDE Plasma.

Not ideal but at least it works.
