Some Revit geometry missing when I export the model to Twinmotion.

Same model, same family, same workset, same phase. Some objects appear when I export the model to Twinmotion, but others don’t. I already tried to export it in different ways. They used to appear, but not anymore.

Revit 2023.1

Twinmotion 2023.1

Hi ,

Is this still occurring for you. Since you posted, Revit 2024 now includes an updated version of Datasmith to version 5.2 which may help. You can download and install Datasmith 5.2 for Revit 2023 from the Twinmotion Datasmith Exporter plugin for Revit page.

If that doesn't help, please submit a bug report here and share a copy of the affected files for our support team to investigate further.

Best,

Raghib

I’m also having this problem. Geometry mysteriously vanishes in Twinmotion and displays erratically. I’m using Revit 2025.2 and Twinmotion 2024.1. The datasmith plugin I’m using is included with the latest version of Revit.

Note: best solution I’ve found is to delete copy clip the elements in Revit then paste aligned to same place. Then synchronize with TM. Problem solved, for vanishing elements… the erratic display I’m still trouble shooting.

I’m also having a similar problem. The cornice on this wall disappears:
This is in Revit:
[had to delete it – Twinmotion will only allow me to post one image]
and this in Twinmotion:

If I change the matieral of the cornice in Revit, I can get the cornice to appear. Here is the wall with an aluminium material for the cornice.
[had to delete it – Twinmotion will only allow me to post one image]
The material doesn’t look much like aluminum in Twinmotion…

I’ve tried changing the material texture maps from .png to .jpg; I’ve tried changing the % transparency of the texture bitmap in Revit…

My work-around is to make the cornice “aluminium” in Revit and then apply a material in Twinmotion, but it shouldn’t be like that…
