Note that currently I own these in Quixel and I can also download it from Fab but cannot add it to my library, which makes me freak out since in Quixel I have access to 18863 assets (mostly material) but in Fab only to 17204 (missing about 1600 assets) which is 12 of those missing are used in my projects
3- I have a few of Quixel materials in one of my project. When I tried to change their references to Fab, I noticed some of texture images are missing. At the moment I’m not sure how this will affect quality of material in my project. probably not much, but I rather not risk it.
This is just an example of one material, this is from Quxiel and this is the same material from Fab.
In following screenshot, Left is the from Quixel bridge and right is from FAB and as you can see Specular, Gloss, Bump, Base color, … is missing (ignoring the name changes of course). Also note that file sizes are different too and even contents of images are changed (compare Displacement for example)
I have the same issue. Can’t even find some materials in fab? For example there was a nice countertop material called “Norrvange limestone” that I love to use but it seems to just be gone?
@BSarmady Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention.
The pricing issue for items listed has been resolved.
You should now be able to add these items to your library without any issues.
Regarding the comparison of materials, it appears the images you shared may be mislabeled. The left image seems to be from Fab, while the right one is from Quixel Bridge. The difference in maps is likely due to the way assets are downloaded in Bridge versus Fab.
In Quixel Bridge, additional maps need to be manually selected in the download settings. If you’re missing maps, please ensure they are selected before downloading.
For FAB, all maps are included by default, except for Displacement .exr file.
exr files are provided in a dedicated section and need to be downloaded separately in Fab.
Additionally, the Albedo map in Quixel Bridge has been renamed to Basecolor in Fab to align with industry standards. While the names differ, they represent the same map and maintain consistency across platforms.
As I mentioned before, still not sure how it will affect the materials defined in project, but so far it seems, if I want to change references to Fab, I will need to re-define materials (due to image file name changes)
