Summary
Today I redeemed 96 Items purchased from 3rdparty shop. These redeems are shown in My account -> Transactions -> Code Redemption
However when I filter the list by 1 day only 80 items are shown.
Link to filter itself
Now I search for an item that I just redeemed.
it doesn’t show up. (also note that first item shown do not have either FPS or Starter, however it has Scatter which has nothing to do with Starter)
But if I remove the filter, it appears at the bottom of list after items that I redeemed more than a month ago. Setting the filter to two months will show the item
First of all, I’m positive that I cannot redeem an item twice, since redeem system will shows an error but all 96 items were successfully redeemed. Which means there is a bug in the search.
Next I’m 100% sure that the filter system has bugs. (if there was a bounty reward for every bug I found here, I wouldn’t be able to redeem personal licenses anymore, my income would go over 100K)
The Bug:
Following filter is applied to Create Date of the asset instead of purchase date.
The Solution:
Apply the filter to Purchase date, instead of create date.
And following sort should give me more options than just 2! for example, Just like Market Place I should be able to sort by purchase date, create date, last updated, name, type, …
It appears to me that people who are designing and developing the Fab, have never actually used Unreal Market Place, Sketchfab, … in their life. About a year and half ago I applied for software developer job in Epic for developing a web application starting from scratch (at that time name was not known) and my application was rejected since they found a more qualified person for the job. I’m sorry but so far, I haven’t seen any qualifying results. it was delayed, when deployed, it was a complete mess bug ridden and after more that 2 months, it is still in terrible condition.
The first rule of migrating a platform is studying the existing one and make sure no feature is removed, which apparently was not applied to Fab.
