Some guidelines on creating modular mesh. List in description

so im creating some modular meshes for my environment modeling. Here are some models that im thinkin to make as a modular piece

  1. brick wall (how does the uv shaope must be like? its taller than it is wide so im not sure  hows the 0-1 uv space in this mesh?)
  2. column (same problem, but even taller and thinner)
  3. FLOOR (square? or whaat? does it have to have thickness when i model that in maya?)
  4. cardboard boxes (:c thickness? single plane? occupy the whole 0-1 uv space?

thanks

don’t make things like a simple wall or floor out of pieces, make the entire section as one piece, otherwise you’re going to have problems with lighting, and it’ll decrease performance when you have many objects.

owh really? but when should i make something as modular tho?

currently im making this 2d art into 3d

can you help me decide on which part to make as a modular asset?’

i was in shock when you said to make all the walls as one piece becuase i saw some tutorial on youtube that makes walls as a modular piece and it turns out so well with little effort on modeling the walls (only texture). I already make some tileable materials on substance sooo
