Some Easily Implementable Suggestions to Greatly Enhance User Experience — We Sincerely Hope Twinmotion Will Consider Them:

  1. Reset Ground Level to Zero
Currently, the ground’s Y-axis position in Twinmotion is set at -40 by default, requiring manual adjustment to 0 each time. It would greatly improve efficiency if the ground could automatically be set to 0.
  2. Auto-Copy Emissive Textures
When enabling emissive properties on a textured material, users must manually copy the texture into the emissive map slot. This process becomes extremely inefficient when handling a large number of emissive materials. Could Twinmotion automatically duplicate the texture into the emissive slot when emissive is enabled?
  3. Lighting Defaults: 6500K Color Temperature with Shadows Enabled
Lighting plays a critical role in creating realistic environments, and having shadows is essential. Currently, all lights default to a color temperature of 4500K. It would be much more effective if the default settings enabled shadows and set the color temperature to 6500K (pure white).
  4. Enable Lumen and Accurate Shadows by Default
New users may not realize that Lumen and accurate shadows need to be manually enabled for better rendering quality. Could Twinmotion consider enabling Lumen and accurate shadows automatically when the visual quality is set to “High” or “Ultra”?
  5. Prompt for Language Selection on First Launch
Displaying a prompt to select a language the first time Twinmotion is launched would significantly enhance localization efforts and improve the onboarding experience for new users.
  6. Lack of Search Function in User Library
Currently, the User Library does not support a search function. The built-in asset library alone is not sufficient — the vast asset collections built by countless Twinmotion creators have the potential to elevate the entire ecosystem. Therefore, adding a search function for the User Library would be extremely valuable. Additionally, enabling a more efficient way to customize thumbnails for user assets would further enhance usability.
  7. Tree Category Translations
Trees are essential for outdoor landscape design, but currently, all tree names are only available in English. While other asset categories also use English, they at least provide translated category labels, making them easier to navigate. However, with hundreds of trees listed only by their English names, it becomes very difficult to find specific types. Providing translated categories or item names for trees would greatly enhance the user experience.
(Of course, we understand that translating all names would require considerable effort — alternatively, could Twinmotion allow users to customize and rename tree assets themselves?)
