Some brushes disappearing in the editor

Hey all,

Working with the UT4 build (UE4.1), I’ve noticed that sometimes if I save the level I’m working on, close the editor, come back to it tomorrow, some of the more complex brushes will be missing.

Here’s a map I’ve been messing with a bit:

And here’s the invisible brush selected.

In the perspective viewport, I’m inside that subtractive brush, looking around. It’s… THERE, just… not in the isometric views? I’ve seen this happen in a couple different maps I’ve messed with. It seems to always be non-cube brushes, cylinders in this one, stairs in a previous one. Subtractive and additive… dunno. Ideas?

This sound pretty strange. Some things that come to my mind:

  • have you already rebuild the geometry?
  • probably you have hidden the brush (right click - unhide)
  • proably you have disabled bsp under the show tab

Otherwise I would recommend you to post this onto answerhub: https://answers.unrealengine/

I just tried rebuilding, just on the off chance, no dice.

I definitely have not hidden the brush, and all the show stuff is set to defaults. :\

Hi TheVoid34,

You actually have a subtraction brush in the scene.

In the attached image you can see that the Blue outlines are representative of “Additive” brushes. The red brush is the “subtractive” brush.

You can select the brush in the viewport or the scene outliner and then change it in the details panel.

I hope this helps!

Thank you!
