[SOLVED] Unexpected Error: Texturing Sanity Check 01

Hello! I’m running 1.0.2.3008 RC, and when I try to texture my scene I’m getting the above error. It’s a conference center with three vendor’s booths, using 1342/1408 cameras registered. Model is around 750k points.

Here’s the tail of my log:

What are your settings for texturing?

Check if there is (by chance) a defective/corrupted image that RC tries to use for texturing…

Today I ran into this error multiple times, with a similar console note as shown below.

While I understand @ShadowTail’s suspicion that an image may be amiss, I think something much more mysterious is happening here.

I say that because I was able to launch texturing by removing some of the polys in the .obj model that yielded the ‘sanity check’ error.  I didn’t touch the images, or the setup.  Instead I imported a few variants of the file, and have no idea why one worked as the geometry is identical in format thugh not in triangle count.

Has anybody else seen this and have any ideas?

Hello to everybody,

this error is related to the Alignment. It probably indicates that some camera is not positioned properly (e.g. is too far away). It would be very helpful if you could send us your project file with aligned component and created model and the project folder (no need to send images) so we can identify the problem.

I had images that were similar to each other but had different values (too dark/ light). In my case it was a window that one image was much lighter than the previous one. I removed any images that were close do being duplicates and I was able to move forward with texturing. This is the first time I have ran into this.

Hi all,

I got the same problem in texturing but I started from a bundle.out project. For his reason, I am not expecting that the error is caused by camera positioning.

I also tried using two versions of the same dataset of images. The first dataset was with original photos. the second was using the color corrected photos.  For this reason, I d not think that “too dark or too bright images” can cause the issue.

any other possible solution?

Thanks in advance for any suggestion
