I installed unrelaengine 4 launcher the other day and was in the process of downloading version 4.1. I downloaded about 7+ GB data. However now I am getting a ‘No version information received’ error when I fireup the launcher.
And I cann’t login either.
I checked the log files and found that the request to https://launcher-service-prod06.ol.epicgames.com is failing. I tried to ping to this url from command prompt. But windows fails to resolve that url into an IP.
Anyway as a test, I edited the hosts file in System32/drivers/etc folder and added the following lines in it
54.84.189.173 account-public-service-prod03.ol.epicgames.com
107.21.17.208 account-public-service-prod03.ol.epicgames.com
I am still getting ‘No version information recceived’ error. However when I press ‘OK’, I am getting logged-in successfully. But after ‘Syncing my account’, It says I do not have an active subscription.
Seeing that its not working , I tried installing the engine in another desktop. But the same problem occurs.
Can you guys please help me. I am really disappointed.
PS: I don’t know if this is related. But I am not able to access www.epicgames.com website from yesterday.
