[SOLVED] Enabling Ray tracing stuck Project Opening at 39 Percent

Wenn I enable Ray tracing the Project needs to restart and after that the Project loads until 39% and doesn’t continue.

I am using Windows 10 (Version 2004), 128 GB RAM, RTX 2070 8 GB, i7 8700. If I enable Direct X 12 in the Project that works fine and the Project starts as expected. Only Ray tracing enabled doesn’t load the Project any longer…

Cheers
Dirk

Thats true. After loading the Project a second Time it again loads within some Seconds.

Means if you create a Ray tracing enabled Project or change one Project to Ray tracing enabled keep in Mind that the first Loading Time / creating Time can take some Minutes approx 10 to 20.

Could solve it. Just wait. Before enabling Ray tracing the Project loaded within some Seconds. With Ray tracing enabled the loading Time is about 15 Minutes. After the Editor is loaded approx 7k Shaders get rendered which also takes some Minutes. Lets see if this amazing long Loading Time also happen a second Time.

I’ve encountered the same scenario. The initial creation of a new project initializes a large amount of shader processing, so ray-tracing enabled makes it quite a bit longer or at least a little bit longer with suitable hardware. 128 GB! Wow. Have you encountered any noise in the new, ray-tracing enabled scene? whether before or after changing a few / some settings?

Hey, I couldn’t see any noise in my Scenes with ray tracing enabled… Yeah the RAM is nice. I work a lot with virtual Machines so I added the most possible amount of RAM. Which settings you are talking about exactly which could create noise ?

I have the same problem but I accidentally did it on a non rtx gpu. Does anyone know what to do?

Hey Virus, just wait. You need to be patient. It is possible that the project needs to load for 30 Minutes or more.
