[SOLVED] Bug 16088: Invalid or corrupted input data

Starting today, we cannot export any mesh, or mesh+texture, after apparently correct 3D reconstruction. Even on older projects, where mesh export was OK, it does not work anymore.
message is  :  “Invalid or corrupted input data”.

We tried to install latest version, but it does not change anything, same error message.

Can you help us ? (of course, this is urgent !)

Vincent

Hello Vincent,

I do not encounter any problems with it but will happily troubleshoot.

Can I please have your HW and OS specs, license version, plus detailed steps you take that result in this issue so that I can try to reproduce it and manage a fix?

I’m encountering the exact same issues when trying to export a mesh in a project that was created several weeks ago.

I’ve exported several products such as the mesh before from this project and this is the first time I’ve seen this error:

“Processing failed: Invalid or corrupted input data.”

Nothing has changed to my computer or data setup. All the files are still there and the images load fine in RC.

PC specs:

Intel i7-3970x / Windows 7 x64

2x GTX780 / 64 GB Ram

Hello everyone,

please try to run the application along with holding Shift key and choose Reset the application settings. After resetting the settings, please try to export the mesh again.

This is an issue on our side and should be fixed in the next release.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Hello, I am getting the same issue when I try to reconstruct on Normal or High detail.

Steps taken : Add images, align, reconstruct.

I always get the “invalid or corrupted input data” error.

Preview reconstruction works fine.

Running :

License version : Payed

Version : 1.0.3.5753 RC.

Windows 10

Intel 4970K

Nvidia 1080Ti

16gb ram

Is there a way to roll back to a different version of the RC?

Got it working. Seems like there is a problem with using certain resolutions from the Jpeg images.

What is the ideal resolution for the images?

Hi, Has there been a fix for this issue? I am getting this error consistently when trying to perform reconstruction at normal quality on laser scan import only. I have tried to reset the application settings as suggested but it has not fixed the issue. Any ideas how I can solve this problem? It is making the software unusable.

Version 1.0.3.9303 RC

Thank you

I get this problem on texturing a model… no feedback as to what is invalid!

I have divided and conquered disabling the images until only 1 image is there and it still doesn’t work. So it doesn’t seem to be the images.

This is infuriating, I just keep trying random things from the forums hoping one will work. What needs to happen is the devs need to give better feedback instead of such a generic message.

I agree I have been trying for days to get my texturing to work but without any results. Can the devs please provide some responses to this thread with some solutions or ideas to get things to work. This is with photos only - no laser scans, after I have simplified a mesh and try to texture it.

Also experiencing this issue. I have a project with multiple models, many of which are reconstructed and textured, and have had orthos taken and exported. Re-opened the model today to export a simplified version of a model and have the same error message.

Would sincerely appreciate an answer. Settings have been reset, still have the issue.

Getting the same error in my scene when texturing (however I’m not able to align or reconstruct either). Nothing has changed. Using v10393

Alignment error: [0x10001\0x4999\0x10001]

Reconstruction error: [0x5051]

Manual unwrap error: [0x5101]

Texturing error: []

Settings have been reset

Same error here as well. Tried setting the application to default settings but no result unfortunately.

yes this happens regularly to us as well - we have to save our project as a new project before we process the scenes every time as if anything goes wrong the project will be corrupted.

so basically before you do a large process - save as under a new name that way when RC corrupts your data you can roll back

I am getting the same issue as detailed by others. Also note that credits are being used even though an empty .obj and texture are being created.

Hi Stephen,

please can you describe more details about your steps, and the message you are getting? Also please make sure you do not have any special characters, or spaces in the destination folder for the model.

Hi Wallace,

Imported images. Aligned images. Created texture. Created Model. Made some slight edits to remove unwanted content.

When creating model I get the error ‘Exporting Textured and Colored Mesh’ The data is invalid.

Hi Stephen,

There are a few things you can try. Firstly clearing the cache, and resetting the application as described above by Zuzana. If that doesn’t work check the topology, and integrity of the model. You can find these settings in the Tools section of the Reconstruction ribbon. Then after this  Clean Model. After cleaning the model unwrap and texture it again.

When I try to upload my model to Scketchfab I get this: “invalid or corrupt input data”. I have already reestablished the configuration and I have also set the minimum resolution to upload but I still get the same error.

Hi DRR30,

please can you try a normal export model to see if the same thing happens. please check your inputs for anything unusual, delete the cache . Then launch the app holding down shift and choose “reset the application”.
