Hi,
I’ve just checked a job that should have run overnight and found that the activation dialog has opened behind the reconstruction progress bar. The reconstruction finish estimation suggests that progress on reconstruction has stopped.

I can pause the reconstruction but that won’t close the progress bar. So I tried cancelling, but after half an hour or so I still see “aborting process” with the activation bar behind.

Since installing RC, I’ve found auto-extension of activation to be very unreliable. I’m repeatedly asked to log in and manually extend the activation, even when I have auto-extension set. Until now it’s been a minor problem. I guess though that auto-extensions should have avoided this problem.
I guess I’m going to have to kill RC to recover from this?
Are there known bugs in the auto-extension feature?
Hamish
Hi Hamish
if it’s just at the DEPTH MAP reconstruction stage ( check in the CONsole view ), then just kill it. The license autoextension is fixed, so you can use it without any issues.
Hi wishgranter,
I don’t think I have any choice but to kill it, whatever stage it’s at. Abort isn’t working - is that a bug?
Is it possible to open the console view when the app is processing or aborting (and in this case while it has a licence extension dialog open as well)? I didn’t think so. I need to get into the habit of running with the console open if not, because I haven’t felt the need to look at the console except when a process is running.
I was running 1.0.2.2525 RC - is the fix for autoextend in 1.0.2.2600 RC? I don’t think it’s mentioned in the release notes. I guess I’ll find out in 7 days.
Thanks,
Hamish
Hi Hamish,
I guess it’s too late now but you can minimize the progress bar.
Whether the activation works during processing, I don’t know.
I also have the issue with auto extension of the license.
Automatic renewal not working
After a while I gathered that there seems to be a window of 2 days for that.
If you miss it (weekend) and open RC after expiration, you need to type in your details again.
Security precautions are rather strict…
Hi Götz - thanks for that hint. I’ll see if it occurs again with the latest version.
I also see that the licensing is more flexible using Steam, so I’ll look at that too.
Hamish
Hello,
do you still encounter the issue with the latest RC version?
Hi Lubenko,
The issue was at least somewhat intermittent I think, and I haven’t had to extend yet with the new version. I’ll let you know if I encounter it.
Thanks,
Hamish
