Hello, everyone!
It’s been a while, but I’m excited to finally share an update on my project and its demo.
After dealing with some health-related setbacks, things were delayed longer than I’d hoped. However, the good news is that the demo is now very close to being ready! I’m aiming for a mid-to-late December release, and this time, I’m determined to make it happen—fingers crossed!
I’ve also been working hard on adding new features, and I wanted to give you a sneak peek into the updated world of Vicinity of Sorrow.
Here’s one of the big updates:
- Interactive PC simulation:
- You’ll now be able to use an in-game PC running a simulated XP-style OS. It includes classic Windows games like Pinball and Spider Solitaire, flash games, as well as MS-DOS titles like Prince of Persia and DOOM…which you can find floppies around the apartment to be able to play. (I’m tweaking the OS design to steer clear of any potential copyright issues.)
- The PC isn’t just for games—you can use it to print documents, find important information, and interact with the environment, such as unlocking doors…
Here’s a video preview of the feature:
I’ll continue to share updates on different areas, features and story as I wrap things up.
Cheers!
