Soft translucency through mask on object problem

I made a small Island, and want it to fade away in the water with the translucent blend mode on the material. I made a mask for the opacity for it. But the whole model is acting strange with some parts showing infront of other objects which should be rendered first. it also seems like i can see through half of the object. I have checked the model, and there are no problems with the normals.
This happens with whatever object I put translucent material on. I’ve read other post with no solutions, stating that this is a limit of the engine. I kinda find this hard to belive.

Is there any other way of doing this? It doesnt seem like it is possible to make a fading opacity with “Masked blend mode”. any workarounds?

Sometimes people will use the dithertemporalAA node to soften masked materials.
