Smoothing from Maya to unreal engine settings


I am rigging a character with hair-cards in maya and will be rigging him as well

right now my faces for the character and model are set to face

what type of mesh display settings do i need to apply to all the geometry before i go to export everything to bring into unreal engine?
… Do i just select the character as well as the haircards and do a mesh display> soften edge?
(i’m using maya 2019 and i believe i used to select everything and set the mesh to 89.5 I don’t see that option anymore tho/ not sure if that was correct regardless)

Any help is appreciated


Pretty much, but delete non-deformer history as well before exporting because sometimes the soften edge node in Maya causes issues in Unreal
