Small Bug Report: HUD Widget component no opacity

Hi

Just a small bug, the widget componenet seems not render opacity, see below pictures of my HUD with a dark gray box with opacity, but when used inside an actor with the Widget Component the opacity is not working:

Tested Version: 4.10.2

Hello FilipeTessaro,

Your blend mode is probably set to masked, you will need to set the blend mode for your widget component to transparent. I have provide an image below to help explain. I hope that this information helps.

Example:

Hi !

I have the same problem and… Sorry but i don’t find at all where i must set the blend mode o.o
I’m not using a material but an image (png) with transparency… ><

Hello Delcourt,

This is a setting that can be found in the widget component’s detail panel after it has been placed in a blueprint. This is not a material or texture setting. I hope that this information helps.

Hello !

Thanks for your quick answer, with few research i find that’s only for widgets in a blueprint. But my problem is the same but for my widgets directly add to viewport. How can i solve this ? None of the changes i make, like set the alpha in “Color and opacity” to 0.2 make a difference. My image is always opaque o.o

Hello ,

If you are not using 3D widgets, this would mean that you are most likely not experiencing the same issue. I will need you to create a new thread for tracking purposes with answers to the questions below. After that, you can come back here and post a link to your new thread and I will be happy to assist you further.

Questions for new thread:

  1. Can you reproduce this issue in a clean project?
  2. If so, could you provide a detailed list of steps to reproduce this issue on our end?
  3. Could you provide screen shots of any blueprints that may be involved with this issue?

Hello Rudy !

This is my new thread !

I would like to thank you in advance for your future help !
