Slice Procedural Mesh in sequencer

hey guys

ok how would i use this technique in an animation in sequencer please? i want a shot of a samurai cutting someone in half, is this possible? and if so any tutorials please?
again this is for a cinematic and not game play

Would it be best me already having sliced the model in 2 halves in Blender for eg then bring it into UE4?
