SkySphere Material Bugged

Hello there,

for a while now I have had this bugged sky dome material. I thought it was normal until somebody told it wasnt. Is there a quick fix for this? It seems to break at the top

The sides look normal

It’s because you’re using a normal sphere for the sky mesh.

If you use a dome with the UVs projected from above, it’s probably better

is there a mesh for that in unreal?

Sphere

Plane cut

Invert normals

Project UVS

Then you can use any material

sky

That’s how you do it

Thank you. Unfortunately I think it is just the material that creates this problem. Your solution didnt fix it.

It’s not the material. That pinching you have at the top is the classic sphere UV problem

You still have a sphere, not a dome, I don’t think you followed the guide

If I put a test material on a normal sphere, I get

on my dome

I followed your guide, created a sphere, cut it and unfilled the hole, inverted the normals and projected the new uv but it still gives me the same result
